Unfold : Letter opener

"Unfold"

In the past people uses letter to communicate but nowadays ritual of letter writing is starting to fade away. With many commutation application coming out people seems to say what they wanted to say immediately without really thinking it through. In contrast with when we write letters, we think a lot before we actually write and send it. The objective of "Unfold" is to bring back the ritual of letter writing. So that people can enjoy a slow and calm life by sitting at a table drinking their coffee and write letter.
The name "Unfold" came from the gesture of opening a present. When receiving a letter, I feel like I am opening a present. I put in the letter opener and slowly move with my hand pushing it. As I read through the hand-written letters I feel like I am appreciating the "gift" that someone have sent me.
You might have noticed that out in the market all of the letter opener are very thin but not so comfortable with the user's hand."Unfold" has curve that fits with the palm. The object is inspired from edamame's form. The two slope that looks like beans indicate user to put their thumb on. One side of it is flat so that the user can press their index finger to increase stability when in use.
"To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart." - Phyllis Theroux
